Darenda Jean Lewis, 55, of Bakersfield CA. passed away November 30th 2014 from complications from a long battle with Scleroderma.

Darenda, along with her mother opened and ran an elite Real Estate business until her illness forced her to retire in 2007. She took great pride in helping first time buyers get into a home.

12/2/1985 Darenda and her two children Wesley & William Johnson married her husband of 29 years, Loren Lewis of Cortez Colorado. Together they had Michael, Zachary & Danielle Lewis. She was a perfect example to her children (and many other children she took into her home) on how to love unconditionally, work hard & praise the Lord. In 2008 Loren & Darenda moved the family to Cortez Colorado to her dream home where she loved to watch the deer grazing in the pasture every morning. Shortly after moving to Cortez, she was driven back to California for treatment for her illness.

Darenda is survived by her husband Loren Lewis, her children, Wesley Johnson, William Johnson, Michael Lewis, Zachary Lewis and Danielle Lewis, her parents Perry and Vivian Gorham, her sisters Gaylene (Tobin) Sinclair, Cynthia Sheppard and Patricia (Jim) Mears & her brother Perry Gorham II. She was also survived by her in-laws Barbara & Leo Lewis of Cortez, sisters-in law Connie (Rick) Baer, Dana (Tom) Litchlyter, Lorri (Mike) Smith & Lana (John) Sulkey. Numerous family and friends and most important, her grandchildren, Alexandria, William, Isaiah, Taylin, Delilah, Hazely and Michael. Service will be held at a later date.
