David Crouch Obituary

Everybody's best friend, David James Crouch, born June 29, 1989, in Oklahoma City, Okla., finally won his battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, in Dallas, Texas. He left us as peaceful as he always was in life.

David grew up in Cortez, playing sports, hunting and fishing, and enjoyed the mountains as much as any man could. David graduated Montezuma-Cortez High School, spending three years in the FFA, which showcased his talents. David was everyone's favorite baseball and basketball umpire, always taking time to help the kids understand the games. David loved his guns and shooting, and enjoyed playing pool with his custom cue from Judds. Anybody who met Dave instantly fell in love with him, and that was his pride and joy.

David moved to Texas to work in the communications tower business where he met lots of new people and traveled around the country with them. Being the guardian of people, he always enjoyed being 400 feet up a tower to see what was on the other side of the horizon.

David was a gentle giant who would come to a friend in need and always stood for the underdog.

He was an inspiration to all. His last year was spent trying to lead the fight against cancer, for he always said other people hurt worse than him.

David leaves behind his mom and dad, LaRhonda and Bill; a brother, Jonathon; sister, Ellen and her daughter Alison, and her fiance Shane Blair; sisters, Emily and Eva; and a host of friends.

David was the best son a mom and dad could ever hope for, and the best brother and uncle.

David, you were great, and you will be missed by all.

Not goodbye - farewell.

Come celebrate David's life from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, at Riverfront Pizza, 1319 Railroad Ave., Dolores.
