Dennis Cannon Obituary

Dennis Dwight Cannon went to be with our Lord on May 14, 2014. He fought the good fight with cancer for a year after his diagnosis.

He was born in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1962, he moved with his family to Aurora, Colo., where Dennis attended school. He enlisted in the Army and served for 3 years, then returned to Colorado and married Patricia O'Connor. To this union were born two sons Jason Patrick and Tyler Dennis Cannon. He had several lines of work, including as a commercial airlines mechanic, and owning the auto body shop American Autographics.

He moved to the Rico/Dolores area in 1994 and married Connie James. Using his artistic talents, he built a metal manufacturing business, Strickley Metal, where he worked until a few days before dying. He love fishing and hunting – his motto was "A bad day fishing was better than the best work day." He never was skunked at fishing and taught his grandchildren to love fishing.
