Donna Murphy Obituary

Born November 1, 1928 in New Castle, Wyo. Left this earthly realm on July 9, 2015 in Stratford, Texas under hospice care.

She was a child of homesteading parents in the wilds of Wyoming. Donna met her husband, Ray Murphy in Luton, Iowa in 1946. They were married February 21, 1947 when Donna was a one-room school house teacher. There were blessed with 3 beautiful children: Patricia (Keith) Tilton, Daniel and Rosalie (George) Young. These children gave them 22 grandchildren. Donna passed with 19 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

Donna was an executive secretary in Iowa, then moved to Colorado in 1985 and worked at Cortez Medical. Her retirement years were filled with enjoying her grandchildren, the American Legion Auxillary, and the Cortez Senior Citizen Center. Her husband, Ray, filled her life with laughter and surprises for 58 years before he passed in 2005. She will be sorely missed for her great advice, kindness, and wonderful homemade Kahlua.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

The advice that she shared with us all will be greatly missed. I looked at her as a Savior because she battled doctors to save my life. When they would have given up, she convinced them to keep trying to save me. As a result of her strength, I have 7 more beautiful children who are a credit to society.
