Dorothy Vanderheiden Obituary

Dorothy Rose Vanderheiden was born on March 10, 1930, in Saint Louis, Mo., the daughter of Walter M. and Marion Smith. Dorothy was a resident of Cortez from 1969 through 1980 when she relocated with her family to Port Arthur, Texas.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Merle Joseph "Van"; seven children, Merle, Kent (Anna), Mary Kim, Mark, Marian (Gary Brady), Matthew (Tami) and Martin Joseph (Evette); 10 grandchildren, Brandon Lee (BJ), Therese Vanderheiden-Walsh, Cameron Brady, Alexandria Vanderheiden, Isabella Vanderheiden, Madison Vanderheiden, Miranda Vanderheiden, Macie Vanderheiden, Nikita Vanderheiden and Gregory Vanderheiden; and by three great-grandchildren, Antonio Lee, Justiss Lee and Mataes Lee.

Dorothy passed away on June 18, 2012 at the age of 82.
