ESTHER PULS Obituary

Longtime Cortez, Colorado resident ESTHER PULS passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of October 23, 2022. Esther was born in April of 1932 in LaCygne, Kansas to Floyd Earl and Florence Blanche Russell. She was the youngest of two boys and eight girls. Her family moved to Colorado, settling in the Grand Junction-Fruita area when Esther was young. She grew up helping her family work in the fields of the Grand Valley while attending school.

In December of 1950 Esther married Virgil Puls. They lived in the Fruita area and started a family after his Army service. In mid 1959 they moved to Cortez where Virgil had been assigned duty with the Colorado State Patrol. Esther was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Through the years she produced successful vegetable and flower gardens and shared her ability to sew, cook, paint. garden and more. She was a homeroom mother, Girl Scout leader and very dedicated sports fan from Little League on up through high school. Warm food and polished uniforms were always part of her day. Memories of family gatherings and holiday meals she prepared will live on in coming years.

Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil, on Sept 3rd of this year. She is survived by daughter, Janet Grimes, husband Ernie, grandsons Geoffrey and Stephen; also son Donald Puls and wife, Margi, grandsons David and wife, Anna, Daniel and his wife, Kristie. Esther was blessed with six PULS great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Our well being was very important to Mom. She always wanted to know if everyone was "okay" and taken care of....We will try our best to make sure of that. We will all miss her loving concern as time passes. Now it is time for her to rest and keep Dad company out on the porch.

Adamson Life Celebration Home of Greeley will provide cremation with a private service at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver CO at a later date.
