So sorry to find out today about Fred's passing. My wife and I met in one of Fred's classes at the U of Arizona in 1970. He was my advisor there. I was in the Marine Corps in Vietnam so we hit it off from the start. We were both trained as radio telegraph operators, and there were other similarities in our lives. We have been friends since that class in 1970.
Fred was a tremendous man and friend. My wife and I loved him dearly. Fred and I would correspond by text on college football Saturdays. He loved his PSU Nittany Lions. He will be missed.

My prayers and condolences to the Smokoski family. I was a friend of Smokies back in our High school days. Smoky was a true gentleman and a great friend. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
