Gina Anderson Obituary

Gina Anderson passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011. She was 80 years old. Gina was born the daughter of Helen and Lyle Yeakle. She was a lifetime resident of Rockford and Caledonia, Ill., and a high school graduate of Harlem High in 1948.

Gina married Gene Anderson on Dec. 9, 1950, in Rockford, Ill. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time outdoors gardening and spending time with her family and loved every day. She was an extraordinary partner who encouraged the whole family. Gina spent the last several years with her husband Gene, splitting their time between their Caledonia and their Mancos home.

Surviving Gina are her husband Gene Anderson of Caledonia and Mancos; her sons, Jim Anderson (Elizabeth) of Lakewood, Colo., Brian Anderson (Judy) of Loves Park, Ill., and daughter, Cindy Markee (Ted) of Caledonia, Ill.; grandchildren, Chad Anderson of Rockton, Ill., Stephanie Anderson of Phoenix, Tom and Sam Anderson of Lakewood, and Hailey Markee of Caledonia; and great-granddaughter Taylor Anderson of Rockton, Ill.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Lyle Yeakle; and a brother, Roger Yeakle.

The family would like to thank the caring staff from Vista Mesa Assisted Living, Pastor Craig and Jennifer Paschal of the Mancos Methodist Church, and friends that have helped over the last few years.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association and Hospice of Montezuma.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Mancos Methodist Church.
