Harvey Achatz Obituary

Harvey Harrison Achatz was born April 5, 1941, the son of Earl Clarence and Mary Louise (Hawkins) Achatz in Alamosa. He passed at away at Valley Inn Nursing Home in Mancos on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at the age of 72.

After graduating from East Denver High School, Harvey then attended and graduated from Denver University. In 1965 Harvey married the love of his life, Monica Joanne Lamoureaux. After graduating from Denver University, Harvey went to work for Thompson Pipe and Steel as an accountant. In 1981, he went to work for PFS Web as vice president of accounting and spent the next 30 years working for them. In Harvey's free time he enjoyed golf and basketball. He was a huge fan of the Denver Broncos and loved watching them play.

Harvey is survived by his wife of 47 years, Monica Achatz of Cortez; his son, Jason and wife, Christina of Richardson, Texas; his three grandchildren, Emma, Harrison and Ellerie Achatz; and his brother, Gerry Achatz of Denver. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mary Achatz; and brother, Rick Achatz.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
