Heidi Champ Obituary
She was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Lisa; son, Dorian; parents and her beloved grandparents, Rose and Bernard Elow.
She achieved her Bat Mitzvah in 1967 at Temple Beth Joseph, Herkimer, NY; graduated high school in 1972 and attended Canaan College before moving to Tucson, AZ. It was in the mountains and ski community of Show Low that she met her devoted husband, Thomas Champ who has been a constant and loyal presence in her life. She addressed him as "dearie." Early in their married years, they welcomed an adopted son, Dorian and Tom's two daughters, Lisa and Jennifer. In later years, Heidi pursued her teaching credential and worked for several years teaching English as a second language. Upon retirement her hobbies were gardening, collecting, cooking and spending time at their mountain retreat. Heidi was a gypsy at heart and dressed in eclectic style adorned in her jewels. She loved music, dancing and howling at the moon.
A celebration of life, followed by a meal, will be held on September 6, 2025, at 3 pm at the Dolores Community Center in Dolores, Colorado.

We´re so sorry to hear of Heidi´s passing. She had such a positive energy. Susan got to know Heidi through our husband´s mutual love of tennis. She enjoyed perusing the Telluride Film Festival with Heidi. Tom we are so sorry for your loss. Rest in peace sweet Heidi.

Heidi was a dear friend indeed. We would sing "Hava Nagila" during lunch lines at Manaugh. no one had the slightest idea what we were talking about, but we did. She always had healthy snacks for the students she worked with one on one. A kind and trusting soul.

So many adventures. So many laughs together. Raising our boys at the same time. Teaching tales etc. Summers at the lakes or up at fish creek, winters at Stoner. A special trip to Italy .
I will always remember my friend as healthy and loving life.

My sympathy for the loss of this beautiful soul who always had a smile. Through her grandfather Ben Elow we became childhood friends.
I just was going through movies and pictures of us when we were young..
enjoying birthday parties and play dates... she was always a delight.
May her memories give family and friends blessings and may she rest in peace.

In7th grade, Heidi and I spent many nights ice skating at Harmon Field, Herkimer. She was a good friend to me and I have fond memories of her Bat Mitzvah and teen parties at her home. My sincere condolences to her family. Joanne Bonfardeci

I attended high school with Heidi, we graduated together in 1972. We were friends from grade school. I attended her Bat Mitzvah and we had many sleepovers at her house on Church Street. She was so well liked and such a good friend. We haven´t seen each other since high school. Rest in peace my dear friend Heidi.

I am saddened to hear this news although I had lost touch with Heidi years ago after we graduated together! Her spirit was always so joyous, fun loving and generous. She will truly be missed!
