Jack Dunsmore Obituary
He is survived by his wife, Dona; brother, Richard Dunsmore and wife Sandy; sister, Jane Gilley and husband Ray of Houston, Texas; and by his stepdaughters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his only son, John Jr. in 1990.
Jack came to Cortez in 1972 and fell in love with the area. He did many things in both Durango and Cortez, but eventually ended his career in Towaoc as Program Director of the Alcohol Awareness and Treatment Program for the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe. He and his wife moved to Truth or Consequences in the hope that a lower altitude and milder winter might help him in his long battle with respiratory illness. Jack missed his home in McElmo Canyon and always hoped to get back to it; and now he will.
