Jacob Baden Obituary

Jacob Baden, 69, a resident of Cortez, Colo., left this life and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 9, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Durango, Colo. "Jake," as he was called by his family and friends, was born James Alan Mehesy on June 5, 1945, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, to Joseph and Anna Mehesy. At the age of 19, on Aug. 1, 1964, he was born into God's family when he received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. After earning his master's degree from the University of South Carolina in 1970, Jake lived and worked in Pennsylvania, California and Colorado.

(Many will remember him as the helpful man in Wal-mart electronics.) While living in California, he changed his name to Jacob Baden. Jake was preceded in death by his parents and by a nephew. He is survived by his older brother, Bob Mehesy of Perth Amboy, N.J.; his twin brother, Joe Mehesy, of Dolores, Colo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Jake will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A graveside service for Jake will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at 9:30 am at the Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Kent Slyter of Arriola Bible Church will officiate, and burial services will be handled by David Haisman of the Four Corners Cremation and Burial Society.

Gifts in memory of Jake may be made to the Christian Discipleship Center, 24826 Road L, Cortez, CO 81321.
