Jo Carter Obituary

Jo Anne (Reynolds) Carter was born Oct. 10, 1933, to Speck (Virgil) and Ivy Reynolds in Great Falls, Mont. She passed away at the age of 80 on July 19, 2014 in Mancos, Colo., at Valley Inn Nursing Home.

Jo loved her family, animals and cooking. If she wasn't feeding or tending to her many "critters" she was either cooking or poring over one of her many cookbooks that she loved reading.

Jo spent many years working in the Texas school district. Her gift was working with special-needs children and making a difference in their lives. Jo lived in many places throughout her life leaving an impact on those who came to know her, she will be greatly missed.

Jo was proceeded in death by her sister, Mel Bland; her infant son, Steven Hager; daughter, Susan (Hager) Greer; both of her parents and her husband, Otis Glenn Carter. She is survived by her two sisters and their husbands, Lou and Alvin Springmeyer, Mary and Joe Mahaffey; two sons, Rodger and Sam Hager; daughters, Sheila (Hager) Porter and her husband, Norman; Paula (Hager) Ibos; her step children, Frank Carter and April (Carter) Frank. Jo also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements are being handled under the direction of Sunset Mesa Funeral Directors (970) 240-9870.
