Joe Hulligan Obituary

Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Joe Shagney Hulligan Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 2 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery. Jack and Nola Shumaker will officiate.

A viewing has been scheduled for Sunday, July 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel.

Joe was born on March 22, 1968 to Joe Shagney Hulligan Sr. and Irene Posey (Hammond) Hulligan in Cortez. He passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at his home at the age of 44.

Joe attended the San Juan Basin Area Vocational School for marketing and business. He was the manager at the Bingo Hall at the Ute Mountain Casino and at Ute Mountain Pottery. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed music, traveling, and dancing.

Surviving Joe are his father, Joe Hulligan Sr. of Towaoc; his siblings, Sandra Watts of Towaoc, Benda Watts of Ignacio, Colo., Benjamin Watts of Ft. Duchesne, Utah, Joyce Frost of Ignacio, and Jodi Watts of Towaoc; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Hulligan; and his siblings, Jolanda Hulligan, Benton Watts, and Jack Watts Sr.
