John Hamilton Obituary
It is with great sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of John Herbert Hamilton II on May 2, 2015. John was born December 26, 1965, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to proud parents, John and Darline Hamilton. John graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School in Cortez, Colorado in 1984. John played football, wrestled, and was captain of the rodeo team. John was outgoing and friends with everyone. John got his love of the outdoors honestly; the family spent many happy outings fishing and camping throughout New Mexico and Colorado.
John graduated from the police academy in 1987, he served at Towaoc Police Department and the Cortez Police Department before moving to Elko, Nevada. John served with the Elko Police Department for almost 25 years before retiring in July of 2014.
John is survived by his wife, Kamiah (Kami); his fellow officer, friend and soul mate. Kami has always had John's back and together, they could do anything. His parents John and Darline; his two surviving beloved sons Koby John and Liam Serge; his sisters Cindy (Kent) Galyon, Denise (Howard) Bartley; nephew, Kyle (Amy) Galyon and niece, Chelsey (Eric) Lopez and great nieces, Kambria Galyon and Brylee Lopez; mother-in-law Khileen (Jim) Flynn of Colorado, and father-in-law Sam (Holly) Clymer of Wyoming.
John was pre-deceased by infant daughter Kourtney Louise and infant son Kaleb Dakota Hamilton.
A memorial service will be held on Friday May 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church, 577 Walnut Street, Elko, Nevada.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hamilton Children's Education Fund in care of the Burns Funeral Home-Memorial Garden at 895 Fairground Road, Elko Nevada, 89801.

John used to come by our home, frequently. He was always happy and he cared for others. He will be missed. Our prayers are with his family, with his parents and siblings. We lived in Cortez at the old Mildred school house. RIP John.
