John Lichliter Obituary

Funeral services for John LaVelle Lichliter will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel located at 4400 College Blvd. in Farmington, N.M. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery in Cortez, Colo. Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

John LaVelle Lichliter quietly slipped through Heaven's door on the evening of November 10, 2016 in Richland, Wash.; he died from complications of strokes and diabetes. John was born to John Arthur and Reva (Armstrong) Lichliter on the family farm north of Cortez on October 20, 1938.

John attended elementary school in a one room schoolhouse and graduated from Cortez High School in 1957. He married Nadean Willden on January 30, 1963 and the couple was later sealed in the Mesa, Ariz. LDS temple. John was employed with Halliburton Services for over 30 years. After retiring, John and Nadean served an LDS mission in Portland, Ore.

Surviving John are his wife, Nadean; three children, Douglas Lichliter (Rebbie), LaDena Woodcox (Scott), David Lichliter (Nikki); and his brothers, Troy and Ron Lichliter. He now looks down from heaven on his nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren, his pride and joy. John was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Duane; and his sister, Aurta Lichliter.
