Joyce Whitney Obituary

Joyce Ann Whitney was born August 12, 1930, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Robert L. and Betty Campbell. She passed away in Cortez, CO. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the age of 94.

Joyce Ann graduated from Malvern High School (Iowa) and was married to Carl R. Whitney in 1948.

She pursued a number of small business adventures from home and along with her husband became owner/operators of a motel in Aztec, New Mexico until their retirement and move to Cottonwood Arizona in 1991.

Joyce Ann moved to Cortez CO following the death of her husband in 2015. She was an avid Quilter and a member of the Dolores Mountain Quilters Club. She was a faithful Christian and loved going to church and singing hymns.

Joyce Ann is survived by her two sons, Michael Whitney (Laurie) of Lewis, CO and Robert Whitney (Heidi) of Loveland, CO, by her grandchildren, as well as her sister Sylvia Shull of Cottonwood, AZ and two nephews.

Joyce Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl R. Whitney and sister Marilyn Campbell.

Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Grace Fellowship Church, 24 N. Chestnut Street, Cortez, Colorado.
