Kathryn McGee Obituary
Kathy was born August 24th, 1941, in Cortez, daughter of J.D. and Florence Smith. She grew up in Lewis and Cortez and was a 1959 graduate of Montezuma Cortez High School and married the love of her life, Jim McGee in 1959.
Kathy lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, music, art, and most of all spending quality time with friends and family and she had an uncanny way to reach people in a deep and positive way. Her greatest devotion was her family.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; JD and Florence Smith, her sister Joyce Chasten Groy, husband Jim McGee, son Michael Dean McGee and nephew Chris Chasten.
She is survived by her children, Stan (Diana) McGee of Blanchard OK., Ed (Heather) McGee of Ordway Co., Wade (Christy) McGee of Cortez Co. 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Niece and nephew Cameron Chasten and Vania Nameth.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. November 23rd at the American Legion in Cortez.
In lieu of flowers, friends who want to make donations, please consider The Four Corners Child Advocacy Center in Cortez.

Kathy never knew a stranger. She always had room at her table or in her heart for you. Thank you Kathy for your love and time. I can't begin to tell you what a hole this leaves in our lives. Wishing you peace and thankful knowing Jim was waiting for you with open arms. Thank you for letting us be part of your life. Love always, Tiki, Ellen, Amanda, and Michael.
