LaVose Priddy Obituary

LaVose LaMain (Richter) Priddy passed away Sept. 21, 2011, after a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. LaVose was born May 3, 1927, in Montgomery, Minn., to loving parents Richard E. Richter and Lenora Mary (Jelinek) Richter. At 14, LaVose moved to San Antonio, Texas, with her father, where she later met and married the love of her life, Gladstone England (Bill) Priddy. LaVose and Bill were blessed with three children whom she loved dearly and took great joy in raising. LaVose lived the majority of her child-rearing years in Cortez, where she and Bill made many close friends. After losing her loving and devoted husband of 38 years, she moved to Phoenix, and then to the Southbelt area of Houston, where she lived for more than 20 years.

LaVose is survived by her children, Joseph Richard (Joe) Priddy, Cathy Priddy Bertrand Rose, and Tanya Priddy; grandchildren, Christopher Bertrand and wife Laura, Wendi (Bertrand) Tarver and husband Justin; Lance, Chad, and Clarissa Priddy; Beau Skidmore and wife Cecilia, and Lacey LaVose Priddy, along with 13 beautiful great-grandchildren. LaVose is survived by two brothers, Russell Richter of Seattle, Wash. and wife Audrey, and Ivan Richter of Elgin, Ore. and wife Judi; sister-in-law Dee Richter; two sisters Nancy Kelm of Mankato, Minn., and Mary Ann Balfour of Richmond, Texas, as well as many well-loved nieces and nephews.

LaVose lived life to the fullest and will be greatly missed by all those who knew her. Many relatives and close friends that have passed before LaVose have surely welcomed her to her new home in heaven. A celebration honoring her life is planned for the summer of 2012 when she will be laid to rest beside her devoted husband, Bill Priddy, in Cortez.
