Linda McWilliams Obituary

Graveside inurnment services for lifelong Cortez resident Linda Joyce (Thorpe) McWilliams will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 3 at Cortez Cemetery. Linda was born on August 28, 1952 in Cortez the daughter of Henry and Letta Ellen (Scammahorn) Thorpe. She passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 63.

On August 18, 1995, Linda married Earl Wayne McWilliams in Aztec, N.M. She was a housekeeper by trade, a highlight of Linda's career was cleaning the hotel room of Metallica's lead drummer, Lars Ulrich. In her free time, Linda enjoyed hiking, drives in the mountains where she would snap pictures through the windshield, and arrowhead hunting. Linda was a loving woman who was considered like a mom to many.

Surviving Linda are her husband, Earl McWilliams of Cortez; her daughter, Corbie Montgomery (Shawn) of Cortez; her grandchildren, Shawn, Cameron, Krystopher, and Taylor Montgomery; her great-grandchildren, Cyrus, Draiven, and Eydan Montgomery, and Lylah Rolliker; her siblings, Gene Thorpe of San Diego, Calif. and Karen Yarbrough (Bobby) of Dolores; and many nieces and nephews. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and her children, Jimmy Morris, Levi Morris, and Dusty Morris.
