Enjoy this poem written in Matt's honor:

They say the cowboy is the last of a dying breed,

How very true indeed.

In the saddle he's rode endless hours and miles,

This is a place he's comfortable.

Where he's thought over his private feelings, tribulations, and trials.

He is a man filled to the brim,

With substances unique only to him.

He is charming and filled with wit,

When he laughed his eyes alit.

He is stubborn and filled with pride,

They say there were few horses he couldn't ride.

He made mistakes,

He left many broken hearts in his wake.

But who is to know,

What he thought or felt deep in his soul.

His horsemanship was unprecedented,

But his ability to form normal family bonds were limited.

We don't know what burdens he carried or regrets he had,

Every life he entered he changed.

Be it for good or bad.

Comfortable only in his element,

but still a hell of a man in many ways,

Passing knowledge and lessons on to some

To be carried on for the rest of their days.

To sum it up, he was a old soul born way too late,

But at any rate,

We may never know what he felt inside,

All we know is this man had one hell of a wild ride.

Compliments of Cherie Kibel, Opie, Kan.
