May Howe Obituary

Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident May Marsh Howe will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at Towaoc Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at Towaoc Cemetery.

May was born May 6, 1926, in Towaoc to John Hammond Marsh and Cora Wells. She passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Grand Junction, Colo. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at the age of 86.

May worked for many years at Ute Mountain Pottery as a glazer. From a young age May had been a seamstress. In her free time she enjoyed participating in Hand Games and playing at the casino. Most dear to May was time spent with family and friends.

Surviving May are her two daughters, Emma Howe and Betty Howe both of Towaoc; six grandchildren, Tracy Lopez of Grand Junction, Antonio Lopez of San Diego, Calif., Rhoda Howard, Candice Ketchum, Candrell Ketchum, and Candida Ketchum all of Towaoc; eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Jean Marsh Taylor of Towaoc.

May was preceded in death by her husband, James Howe; three children, Janice Avaline Howe, Hank Marsh Howe, and Stanford Howe; one grandson, J'Micah Howe; her parents; and by her siblings, Elizabeth Marsh, Wesley Marsh, Roosevelt Marsh, Ruth Marsh Root, and Charlie Hammond Marsh.
