Nadine taught me how to make bread and butter pickles at a young age. My mom, Mae Cromar and Nadine made many a quart of pickles and I helped by watching underfoot and in the soaking crock when empty of cucumbers I would crawl in and hid with reminder from Nadine to be careful when I crawled out. We all played Pit a card game and ate many a roasted peanut off the stove in the peanut house Sam planted rows of peanuts. I learned to drive on the tractor as the men loaded the wagon with bails of hay. I enjoyed my hours with the Dunnings and feel blessed they were our closest neighbor while I grew up. I will miss Nadine and remember listening when she was on the phone as were shared a party line with her. Dale you are in my thoughts.
