Nancy Womack Obituary

Nancy Moreen Womack, age 82, of Colorado City, Texas, passed away Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in a local care center. Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 in the First Methodist United Church in Colorado City. Burial will follow in the Cuthbert Cemetery under the care and direction of Kiker-Seale Funeral Home.

Nancy was born Nov. 28, 1929 in Colorado City to I.G. and Tommie Leah Smith Haines. She graduated from Colorado High School in 1947 and married Charles William "Short" Womack on May 27, 1947. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1993. Nancy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Although she lived most of her life in Colorado City, she and "Short" had also lived in Cortez. They also lived in Anchorage, Alaska for ten years. In Colorado City, Nancy was an excellent Avon representative for many years. She won several awards for her outstanding achievements. Nancy was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Johnnie and husband Dennis Coulon of Colorado City and Linda and husband Chester Ahlgrim of Waterflow, N.M.; a son, Charles William "Sam" and wife Mona Womack of Anchorage; two sisters, Martha Anderson of Colorado City and Mary Gentry of Sanger, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy was also preceded in death by her parents; a stepfather, Edgar Lee Putman; a daughter, Marilyn Tozer; a granddaughter, Rickie Henderson and a brother, Charles Robert Haines.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 at the funeral home.
