I worked on a mining reclamation crew with Neal summer of '96 in Telluride. He was a hard worker and skilled machinery operator. We had many adventures riding our motorcycles up Black Bear Pass every Monday morning to our mancamp at around 12,000'. I trusted my life with him multiple times as he operated a backhoe skillfully above my head with no room for error!
He was a man of few words but when he talked.. you listened. Shared many memorable nights around the campfires and working long days. My condolences to his family and loved ones. With all respect, Carl Phelps
