Oraly Muzzy Obituary

Graveside services for Oraly Francis "Bud" Muzzy a longtime resident of Dolores will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 27, at Cortez Cemetery.

Bud was born May 27, 1928, in Lamar, Colo., the son of Elbert and Winifred Ethel (MacMaine) Muzzy. He passed away at Vista Grande Inn on Friday, June 20, 2014. Bud was 86 years old.

On Jan. 8, 1948, Bud marred Ethel Mae Smith in Aztec, N.M. This marriage was blessed by eight children, Wesley, Janet, Craig, Susan, Brandee, Aaron, Beverly and Danny. Bud was a logger by trade, a trade that he passed on to several of his children.

Surviving Bud are his children, Wesley Muzzy of Heber, Ariz., Janet Glenn and husband, Danny of Cortez, Craig Muzzy and wife, Laura of Cortez, Susan Sanders of Cortez, and Brandee Muzzy-Perry and husband, Allan of Cortez; and by 18 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ethel Mae Muzzy; two sons, Aaron Muzzy and Danny Muzzy; his daughter, Beverly Muzzy Hughes; a son-in-law, John Sanders; and his siblings, Bert Muzzy, Fred Muzzy and Mary Fowler.
