Pearl Laner Obituary

Graveside services for lifelong Towaoc resident Pearl Root Laner will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Towaoc Cemetery. Manuel Heart will officiate.

A wake was held Friday afternoon at Pearl's residence, 129 Beadsturn Street

Pearl was born April 1, 1929 in Towaoc the daughter of James Root and Corine Cuthair. She passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington, N.M. at the age of 82.

Pearl enjoyed beadwork, taking walks and spending time in her garden. Pearl was an amazing carpenter and cook.

Surviving Pearl are her husband Alfred Wall Sr. of Towaoc; and children Franklin Laner Sr. and wife Juanita of Farmington, N.M., Bernadine Laner and Tanis Lopez of Towaoc, and Rutherford Mills Sr. of Towaoc. Pearl also leaves behind her siblings Freddy Bancroft and wife Erna of Towaoc, Virginia Root of North Dakota, and Genevive Root of Ignacio; her aunt Jessie Root House and husband Thomas House Sr. of Towaoc; her grandchildren Franklin Laner Jr., Winifred Laner, Wendy Laner, Adrian Laner, Phillip Laner Jr., Cassandra Laner, Bendora Laner, Archie House Jr., DeAune H. Wall, Stephanie House, Angel House, William House, Yvonne House, Anthony Boone, Willow Whiteskunk, Zella Whiteskunk, Ronald Whiteskunk Jr., George R. Mills, Rutherford Mills Jr., Rudy Wells, Kedance Laner, Kaden Laner, and Hannah Casey; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; by her children Archie House Sr., Ray Laner, Eugene Laner, Hazel Laner, and Phillip Laner Sr.; and by her grandchildren Sheila Laner, Marwin Laner, O'Brien Billy, and Tyrell Boone.
