I loved your book "A year in Provence", the easy going life reminds me of our lovely summer place in Turkey, Datça. I want to read a few more of your books and visit Provence. Sleep in peace. May the best wines of your taste always be served to you at languish lunches.

Lydall not sure of spelling, Im told she had a daughter Nicola, ? is this your mother? Im told possibly live in Orlando and you have a sister Jane. She always used to recieve a Xmas card from Nicola but didnt this time and wondered if I could find out if shes ok. My Grannys name is Elizabeth, known as Betty, she would love to know. a wellspring of joy, that I go back to ever couple of years, a real and personal loss to my life.

As I rarely read the NY Times obits, I have just found out about Mr. Mayle's death, and even though I only know him through his wonderful books, I feel heartbroke, like I lost a friend.
I can only imagine the loss his family must feel and to them I give my heart felt sympathy. I will always have my copies of my books and will treasure 'My Twenty-Five years in Provence' which I just purchased.

I love Provence!

It was because of your books that I developed a love affair for everything French, especially the south of France. May you continue your storytelling at your desk in Heaven. God bless you Peter

I have read A Year in Provence over and over again. It always inspired a secret lift to life.

Just read Mr. Mayle had passed away. I have read almost all his books. So delightful his writing. I always saved them for summer reading. Will order a couple more and will miss his contribution. Condolences to the family. Gosh I am sad for sure. Fly those wings Peter over Provence!!!!

Peter Mayle introduced us to Provence and for that we are eternally grateful! Love all his books and as I read it I slow down and savour the place, food, truff, wines, and all that he writes.....his style is so easy and enticing!!! I am very sorry for your loss. It's times like this where we reflect on our own lives, values, friendships, and family. Losing a loved one can be painful, but memories last forever and so does God's love. Most importantly, he will never be forgotten because he is in God's memory.

I loved his books! I will miss his great sense of humor. My deepest condolences.
