Philip Stock Obituary

Philip Lytle Stock III was born May 5, 1943, in Pueblo, Colo., to Philip L. Stock, Jr. and Rosalie A. (Thomas) Stock and was raised in Bayfield. He passed away at his Cortez home on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at the age of 68.

Philip was a retired major of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as an optical engineer. He also worked for Martin Marietta and was heavily involved with the space program. Philip was a past president of the Child Advocacy Center in Cortez. In his spare time, Philip loved to read, fish and hunt.

Surviving Philip are his mother, Rosalie Stock of Dolores; his children, Jason Stock of San Antonio, Texas, and Leslie Stock of Denver; his grandchildren, Cody and Alex Stock; and his brothers, Robert Stock and wife Delores of Hawkinville, Ga., and Fred Stock and wife Barbara of Dolores.

Philip was preceded in death by his father, Philip Stock Jr.

Cremation will take place with no services planned.

Memorial contributions can be made to The Nest Child Advocacy Center, 140 N. Linden St., Cortez, CO 81321.
