Ray Miller Obituary

Ray H. Miller — a gentlemen who was classy, sophisticated, intelligent, humorous, kind, joyful, a man who loved to laugh, devoted to wife and family, hard worker, and a dear friend to many — died the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, of pneumonia, after a long bout with Alzheimer's disease, in Los Altos, Calif.

He was born in Cincinnati and graduated from Withrow High School. At an early age Ray joined the Marines. He was stationed at Paris Island, S.C. After finishing training he was sent to Great Lakes, Ill., for pilot training. The war soon ended and Ray enrolled at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He graduated from business school with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing and Finance in 1953.

While attending college in Boulder, Ray met the love of his life and soul mate, Donna Lou Veach. Donna and Ray eloped to Longmont. And were married on June 22, 1951. Their son, Terry Ray, was born the following year. A wonderful married life laid ahead for these two, which lasted 62-plus years.

Ray is survived by his wife, Donna Lou, of Los Altos, Calif.; sons Terry Ray and wife, Sena Miller, of Sunnyvale, Calif.; Jeffrey Veach Miller and Claire of Menlo Park, Calif.; and daughter, Connie Elaine Miller of Los Altos, Calif.; and sister, Nada Miller Snider of Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A private family service for Ray was held on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at the Cortez Cemetery.
