Deb,
My thoughts and prayers are with you, Kyle and your entire family as you celebrate Rays life, and mourn his passing. We were so fortunate to know him and be a part of his life. I believe in my heart, that Scott welcomed him to heaven. I will only share some words that were shared and helpful to me after Scott passed.....Grief is a passage, not a place to stay.....I am still there, taking two steps forward and one step back...but always moving forward. Best wishes that love and peace will surround you. Marion

Dearest Deb & Kyle, Ray was another brother to me. He & Jim arrived on the DAP the same day. I'm sure Jim was there to help him cross. I want you to know I'm here for you. "He's been raised up on eagles wings, born on the breath of dawn, and made to shine like the sun, and taken back into the Great Creator's hand." Love to you both.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Harriman's untimely death. I remember him very well because back in 2005 and 2006 I substituted for him and covered his history classes when he had a football game. As a teacher myself, I could see that he was a very good teacher and I saw how his students appreciated and respected him just by the way they treated me. It's a teacher thing...we just know when another teacher is excellent or mediocre. He will be remembered forever by his students. I know he touched many lives deeply. He is the kind of educator that we all aspire to be. He is now with Jehovah, God who loves him very much. For God, we are always alive. My deepest sympathy and prayers are with your family.

Deb & Kyle, Please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss. We feel so privileged to have had the honor to work alongside your husband and dad during our years in Cortez. Our memories of Ray cause us both to smile, as he was genuinely a man of warmth, honesty, integrity, passion for life and most importantly, expansive humor. Ray had the ability to help those around him believe in themselves. His passing will be felt among many, many lives he touched in his special "Ray" way. All of our love and prayers for strength at this challenging timeðºðº

Ray lived his life to the fullest, the way he wanted it. His precious family (and dog), his students, his friends, his mountains. I never saw him without getting a big hug, never saw him without a smile on his face. You all have laughs that are unforgettable and you make others laugh/smile with you. We all have so many precious memories - and we can't recall any "bad" times. Carry his love in your hearts - as he will always carry yours. Give his dog extra pats and treats. He needs them too. Love you guys! Mary

I only met Ray once in Walsenburg last year when he stopped by to see Miss Gerry. He was so friendly and I felt like I had known him all my life, that in part due to his wonderful mother and her wonderful stories about her family. My heartfelt prayers go out to all his family. Miss Gerry and Mr Ray, I love you and you are in my prayers. May God hold you all in his hands.

Ray was as outgoing and accommodating a human being as I ever knew - a friend to peers and students alike! Just like the famous cowboy pundit Will Rogers, Ray "never met a man he didn't like!" My life takeaway with Ray was that I always felt better after I spent time chatting with Ray! My deepest sympathy to Deb and Kyle. Gordon
