Richard Conner Obituary

Richard Lee Conner was born May 21, 1957 in Cortez, CO to Robert C. and Pauline Conner. Richard took his last ride up to be with Jesus on July 28, 2016. He was currently residing in Amarillo, TX.

He was the proud father of 7 children and an amazing Poppy to his grandchildren. An Army veteran, he served his community for 20 years with the Potter County Sheriff's Dept. One of Richard's proudest moments was being a living liver donor for his little sister, Terrie. He loved to teach and share his knowledge with others, whether it was hunting, fishing, riding horses or the Cowboy Way of life. Richard loved the Colorado mountains. His favorite hunting camp was up on the Roaring Fork; he returned to that spot almost every year for hunting season.

While living in Amarillo, Richard was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #57 and the Rolling Hills Riding Club. He volunteered with the American Cancer Society Relay for Life project, Cattle Baron's Ball, The FOP's Cops & Kids Program, and Boy Scouts of America. Above all else, Richard was a child of God; he loved the Lord.

Richard married Janet Keck on May 31, 1975 in Mancos, CO. Janet and their baby daughter Jessie Lee Conner preceded him in death, along with a grandson, Joshua. Richard married Michelle Nobles on July 1, 2001, in Montezuma County, CO.

Richard is survived by his wife Michelle Conner of Amarillo; 3 sons, Richard R. Conner, El Paso, TX; Billy Miller (Misti) of Amarillo; and Isaac Conner of Austin, TX; 4 daughters, ChyAnn Miller (Maldo); Celeste Barrios (Michael); Brittany Conner (Wesley); and Wendy Stevens, all of Amarillo; his parents, Robert C. and Pauline Conner of Cortez; 3 brothers, Jay (Tara); Bill (Stacie) and Robert (Kathy); sister Terrie Williams (Dan); 16 grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

The family suggests memorials be made to FOP Cops & Kids, FOP Potter County Lodge #57, P.O. Box 2283, Amarillo, TX 79105.
