Richard Kipp Obituary

Richard Del Kipp

Oct. 28, 1937 - Nov. 19, 2025

Richard passed away on Nov. 19, 2025, after a very full & industrious life. Son of A-Delbert and Lilian (Scott) Kipp, he began his life in Grand Junction, Colorado, and at 14 years old moved to Gateway, Colorado. In 1955, he graduated from high school and proceeded to work on the Craig Ranch in Unaweep Canyon. He then went on to haul uranium and drive a truck until 1972, at which point he started his own construction company: Kipp Construction. Afterwards, he worked for Brown & Root, where he travelled the world with his wife, Catherine, by his side. In 1994, Richard and Catherine bought a ranch in Pleasantview, Colorado and raised cattle for many years. He retired and enjoyed every single day on his back porch, looking over his fields. Richard belonged to the Colorado Independent Cattle Growers Association, Colorado Cattleman's Association, and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends. Richard is preceded in death by his bonus child: Larry Fryer, and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Catherine, children: Brad Kipp and Shanna (Kerry) Krieger; bonus children: Ken Fryer and LaDonna Landing; 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life is planned for the Spring and will be announced at a later date.
