Robert Hull Obituary

Robert Avery 'Bob' Hull was born to Joseph Osmond and Lucy Williams Loring Hull on October 25, 1927 in Norwich, Connecticut. He passed peacefully on Sept. 14, 2015.

Bob loved his country and is a veteran of two wars. As soon as he graduated from Norwich Free Academy in 1945, he enlisted in the Navy for the tail end of WWII. He was also a veteran of the Korean War where he flew a total of 100 missions as an F80 pilot for the 80th Fighter Squadron of the United States Air Force. Among his many awards is the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the Korean War Bob continued to serve in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and achieved the rank of Major.

Bob graduated from the University of Connecticut with a B.S. in Business Administration and a law degree from Cal Western before establishing his own tax accounting business. Bob moved from California to his beloved Dolores, Colorado in the early 1990's. He was a member of the Freemasons, was active in the Rotary Club of Dolores and served on the Dolores Chamber of Commerce for many years.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother and father; siblings, Harriet Rowley, George Hull and Richard Hull and his ever faithful dog, Kodiak. He is survived by his children, Joseph (Mary) Hull and Edward Hull both of Carlsbad, California; 5 grandchildren, Connor, Karina, Grace, Adeline and Riley; sister, Barbara Eberle of Waterford, Connecticut; and former spouses, Rita Truelove of Reno, Nevada and Marcia Hull of Durango, CO.

No formal service will be held. The family encourages everyone who remembers him to celebrate Bob's life in their own way.
