Robert McCabe Obituary

McCabe, Robert "Bob" Bruce, Dad and Grandpa to everyone who loved him. After a two year battle with cancer he was called home to the Lord on February 6, 2015 with his son and daughter-in-law by his side in Tucson, Arizona. Bob was born January 31, 1945 in Cortez, Colorado and raised on the Wagon Rod Ranch above Dolores. He was a beloved son to Stanley and Leona and brother to Billy and Tish McHennery, who all preceded him in death. He was a rancher, three star athlete, good friend to many, a cowboy (who worked so hard at roping cows the first time that he didn't see that tree branch that took him out of the saddle that one time. Bob was also a dedicated patriot who loved his country so much that he left college and volunteered for the Army and the fight in Vietnam. He was always helping others who were in need. He was a great father, coach and friend. Bob was a businessman, a postman, a volunteer and he loved the Denver Broncos. In death Bob is reunited with his wife, Sandy who he lost in 2008. I have and will continue to try and live up to the example that was my father. All our Love, Jack, Teresa, Katelin and Collin McCabe. Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, AZ. 520-544-2285

I treasure my childhood growing up in Dolores and the people who inhabited it. Bob was a lifetime friend, the kind that when you see each other after a long time, you pick up where you left off. My condolences to the family. - Ellis Miller

My condolences to the family of Bob. My memories of Bob are mostly of our younger days on Beaver Creek and other Dolores County locations, working with the Wagon Rod Ranches.

I am sorry for your families loss.

Please accept my condolences in this time of grief. Draw close to God as He understands how you feel. In the Scriptures at Isaiah 63:9 It says that it is distressing to Him when His people are distressed.
