Robert Pettingill Obituary

Robert (Bob) Allen Pettingill, 91, born in Rico, Colorado January 6, 1933, passed away in Plant City, Florida, on January 17th, 2024.

Bob was the son of Roy and Alice Pettingill. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was deployed in Germany, after which he earned a mechanical engineering degree at the Milwaukee School of Engineering. During his life he fixed things, mostly cars for his family, but large machines for his career. Employers included Dynex/Rivett Inc, a Wisconsin based manufacturer of high-pressure hydraulic equipment, and Westinghouse Nuclear Division where he was a lead engineer.

Bob enjoyed robust health most of his life. He walked around six miles daily before breakfast. Decades of regular exercise, running, walking and calisthenics, kept him healthy.

Bob is survived by his siblings, Richard and Ruth, grand nieces and nephews, children Guy and Juli and grandchild Edward. He is also survived by his wife, Julie, and her large extended family including his step grandchildren Austen and Robert.
