Thomas Roseberry Obituary

Thomas Kay Roseberry passed away Jan. 1, 2012 in Grand Junction, Colo.

A celebration of life was held at Fellowship Church on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012 with his son Tim as the officiant.

Kay Roseberry is survived by his wife Judy Roseberry of Grand Junction; four children, Tommy Roseberry of Littleton, Colo., Cristie Englehart of Delta, Colo., Tonya Mason of Fruita, Colo. and Timmy Roseberry of Grand Junction; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Don of Durango, and Dean of Las Vegas. Nev.

Thomas, more affectionately known as Kay, entered this world on Oct. 20, 1937 to Thomas and Dorothy Roseberry. Kay started his life in Montrose, then moved to Grand Junction alongside his two brothers and one sister. His sister was lost in a freak accident at the early age of two.

Kay's parents moved from Grand Junction to Cortez in 1946 and started a new plumbing business that Kay and his brothers entered after completing their educations.

While growing up in the desert Southwest, Kay was active in school and became a feared opponent by others on the high school wrestling mat. During his high school years he met the one and only person whom he forever gave his heart to.

Judith (Judy) Goode entered his life and they became one on Aug. 8, 1957. The two started their beautiful family - Tom, Cristie, Tonya and Tim. All four continue to be successful contributors to the communities where they reside today.

Kay followed in his dad's footsteps and became a successful businessman in Cortez, first as a plumber, then as an owner and operator of a clothing store named Criston Fashion's. The name was derived by affectionately combining his daughters' two names. He also opened a sandwich shop named Mr. Goodberry's. His love of cooking enabled him to share that talent through his quaint shop and it was the place to go for the best sandwich in town!

Kay loved the outdoors. Countless trips to Lake Powell brought lasting memories for all those involved. His love for nature took him on many hunting and fishing trips, including a recent Alaskan fishing trip. These adventures served as learning lessons and bonding time for his sons and family members.

Kay is most known for his love of God and praising his Glory through the use of his voice. However, his greatest accomplishment was the joy of knowing that his spiritual leadership during his life has led to the assurance that his family will someday join him for a life that will never end. Together in Heaven, they will all celebrate in God's love.

We love you and miss you.
