My favorite role of Valentina's was as Francis of Asisi's mother in "Brother Sun, Sister Moon". She effortlessly played a good person who was at the same time a horrible parent and teacher. RIP, and enjoy the Journey, Valentina...

Valentina Cortese was an immense talent and the very definition of how to illuminate a screen in a dark theatre. She had many celebrated roles, but she could even make sitting through a few of the turkeys she made a grand experience. We should be thankful she made films here, otherwise we may never have discovered this stunning and much celebrated actress. It is a great joy to see here, she had many fans in unlikely places!
