Virginia Reeves Obituary

Virginia L. Reeves was born July 20, 1940, in Chandler, Arizona the daughter of Robert H. and Bertha M. Vest. She passed away in her home surrounded by her immediate family in Cortez, CO on September 3, 2024.

Virginia was a strong and independent woman who enjoyed a life of work and travel. She began her career in Mesa, AZ working for the Mesa Independent School District in Sept. of 1979 as a Playground Aide/Crossing Guard. Virginia was an active member and honorable matron for the Order of the Eastern Star.

Virginia met the love of her life John V. Reeves while attending College at Northern Arizona University. She later married John on August 21, 1960. They happily celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on August 21, 2010. Together the two of them had five wonderful children, Leann E. Rasmussen of Apache Junction, AZ, Robert W. Reeves (and wife Tamiey) of Hutto, TX, Pamela S Reinhart (and husband Thomas) of Cortez, CO, John V. Reeves II (Deceased) of Mesa, AZ, and Phillip E. Reeves of Cortez, CO. Surviving Virginia are an extended family of seven grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband John V. Reeves on April 11, 2012, and her second son John V. Reeves II. A funeral service for her immediate family and friend will be held at the Ertel Funeral Home.
