Wallace Frazier Obituary

A service will be held in the mountains of Dolores County on Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 11 a.m., and a luncheon following at Arriola Bible Church at 1 p.m. Information and mountain location directions can be obtained from Arriola Bible Church.

Wallace E. (Wally) Frazier passed away on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014 in Comanche, Texas. He was born on Aug. 11, 1939 in Denver. to Wallace Young and Elsie (Wagner) Young. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, he was united in marriage to Sherry Lynn Haley on May 6, 1961. They made their home in Southern California, where he worked at Downey Mower & Saw Co. as a small engine repairman. Wally was a very gifted and skilled mechanic and very quickly moved on to become a certified mechanic for the Bobcat Company. Wally and Sherry moved to Lewis, in 1985 where he continued working in the field of engine mechanics, and finally wrapping up his career working for Kubota. In 2005, they moved to Comanche, Texas, to retire, however, he continued to tinker with fixing things.

Wally was a member of East Side Baptist Church in Comanche. He loved and was a faithful servant of the Lord and spent many hours studying his Bible and reading books about the Apostle Paul. Wally was a devoted husband and loved his family. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting, but his favorite pastime was listening to Southern Gospel music.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Frazier of Comanche, Texas; daughter Michelle Cameron of Lewis; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Tammy Frazier; step-brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Dolly Young; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He is preceded in death by his father Wallace Earl George Young; his adoptive father, Lynn J. Frazier; mother, Elsie Emma (Wagner) Frazier; son-in-law, Ronald Jay Cameron; and granddaughter, Helen (Joy) Frazier.
