William Donald Wayne "Donnie" McCaw obituary

William McCaw Obituary

William Donald "Donnie" Wayne McCaw was born March 29, 1978, in Durango. He passed from this life unexpectedly March 14, 2011, in Lewisville, Texas, where he resided for the last 11 years, at the age of 32.

"Hippie" - as he was known by most of his friends - never met a stranger. He always had a smile, kind heart, shoulder to cry on and open door for anyone in need. He had a deep love for life and managed to bring people from all walks of life together. Donnie never had a bad word to say about anyone and taught us all that a book really cannot be judged by its cover. Donnie will be deeply missed by hundreds of friends and family members.

Surviving Donnie are his mother Terry Conrad of Montrose, his father Dean McCaw of Oxford, and grandmother Joan McCaw also of Oxford; his sisters Deana McCaw of Montrose and Shannon Griffin and husband Jeremy Whitecotton of Cortez. Donnie was also the very proud uncle of seven nephews; Christopher and Devin of Montrose; and Kyle, Austin, Shayne, Jarod and Tyce, in addition to one niece, Laela, all of Cortez. Donnie also leaves behind three aunts and two uncles, in addition to numerous cousins and countless friends who were all an extension of his family.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Bud and Pauline Conrad and his paternal grandfather Merle McCaw.

A memorial celebration of Donnie's life will be held at a later date, and cremation has already taken place. To make memorial contributions, send condolences or get further details about services, contact Deana McCaw at [email protected] or on Facebook.
