The Winkler family has been a staple of service in Cortez and Mesa Verde. Mr. Winkler hired both my dad, Del, and me to work at Mesa Verde. I´ve attended school with family members. Mr. Winkler lived a great life filled with love, involvement, and concern . My sympathies to the family. It´s a great loss.

I met Bill through his lovely daughter Margaret. The best memory of Bill that I have is when he came to the office with his lovely wife Merrie. They were holding hands. He was so sweet and attentive of her. They would look at each other and smile. That special smile that is reserved for those we truly love. It was a joy to see. I know in my heart they are both together, holding hands and walking those gardens reserved for those special souls. May memories of him bring solace and peace to his family.

I knew Bill through his daughter Carol Goldsmith, my sister in law. I loved it when Bill was around and shared his many adventures and pictures. He was full of life and you felt like you were part of the adventure with him. He will be missed by many many people. To Rich and Carol Goldsmith and the rest of Bills family our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. Love to you all.

My dad Gene Sharp, worked at Mesa Verde for many years with Bill and knew him quite well. He remembers him from their work together. Dad was impressed with his hard work and dedication with passion for his jobs.
We as the Sharp family are so sorry for your loss and send condolences to all his family and many friends. Keep his memory alive by keeping and sharing his many stories and your memories of him. We pray for comfort for all. Much love to each of you.

My first memory of dad is of me
sitting on his lap and wrapping my little hands around his big fat thumbs
