Wilma Doyel-Kerr Obituary

Passed away on May 19th 2022 at the Hope West Care Center in Grand Junction CO from cancer related complications.

She was 74 years old and was a resident of Dove Creek Colorado.

Wilma was born in Cortez CO on April 6th 1948 to Lester & Pearl Hasty. She was the first baby girl born at the "old" Cortez

hospital.

She was raised in the Dove Creek area where she ended up living for most of her life.

During her adult life she was employed at Frosty's Market & Liquor for many years, and the Dove Creek Superette as a butcher

up until she was diagnosed with cancer.

She enjoyed working, and was known for having a great work ethic. She loved taking care of her yard, and spent many hours

grooming all of the landscape just as she wanted with a huge variety of beautiful flowers. She loved her friends, family, music,

dancing and being the life of the party as the host of many get together's at her home. She would often make the trip to the local

casinos, and loved to play her favorite slot machines.

Wilma is survived by her sister Donna Nielson of Fruita CO, Sister in Law Shirley Hasty of Cortez CO. Daughter Sheila Rosado

((Juan Rosado) of Durango CO, Daughter Sue Huskey (Mike Blackwelder) of Grand Junction CO, Son Scott Doyel ( Tonya

Doyel ) of Craig CO, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, 12 Grandchildren, 17 Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great, Great Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Hasty, Pearl Hasty, Brothers Bobby and James Hasty, Husband Jack Doyel,

and Husband Cal Kerr.

Wilma will be greatly missed by her Family and was definitely one of a kind that will never be forgotten.

I am so sorry to hear of Wilma passing. she was a good friend and we all loved her. She was a force to be reckoned with for sure. For years she would take a big turkey out of the freezer and put it in the refrigerator for me at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not very many could out work her. We will all miss her very much. She always kept her yard nice, her house was spotless and she always had time to chat.

Wilma always had smile and an abundance of energy. Her family about three miles from us. My mother stayed with the Hasty family while teaching at the Burns School. The Hasty family and mom would walk to school every day. There are lots of memories associated with the Hasty family and the Burns/Egnar communities.

May Wilma Rest In Peace.
