William Ainsworth

ROCHESTER - William "Bill" Ainsworth, 88, of Sagamore Lane, passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2013.

He was born on January 14, 1925, in Pasadena, Calif.; the son of Richard and Dulcie (Hayes) Ainsworth. Bill was a graduate of Dover High School, Class of 1943. Bill was a member of the Moses Paul Masonic Lodge #96, F. & A.M.

Over the years, Bill worked in the Automotive Industry; operating the Atlantic Service Station on 882 Central Ave in Dover during the 1950s. He then owned and operated the Ainsworth Tire and Auto, which was located on the Weeks Circle in Dover, from 1961 till his retirement in 1985. Bill and his wife, Gail then moved to Dummer, where they resided for the next 20 years. Recently they decided to move back to the area and lived in Rochester for the past 6 years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gail (Tremblay) Ainsworth; his daughters, Linda (Ainsworth) Cogdill of Rochester and Debra (Ainsworth) Bodoh of Dover; his stepdaughter, Pamela Amero and husband, Randy of Berlin; his grandchildren, Karen Croteau of Rollinsford, Danielle, Jacob and Kailee Bodoh of Dover, Lyndsey and Jon Salvatore of Berlin; and his great grandchildren, Mavrik, Noah, and Vedder.

Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made in Bill's name to a charity of one's choice.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, January 21, 2013, with a Masonic service will be held during visiting hours at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home, 655 Central Ave., Dover, N.H.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 22, 2013, at Wiggin-Purdy-McCooey-Dion Funeral Home. Interment will be at a later date at Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover, N.H.

My condolences to Bill's family. I routinely took my vehicle to Bill's station at Weeks' Traffic Circle back in the 70's. He was always friendly, honest and very thorough. I'm sure Bill will be missed, not only by family members but by those who knew him over the years.

I'm so sorry,for your loss.
I will alway's remember the coke machine.Playing with Deb,going with him on the harley and snowmobile, and of course sleeping on the hammock at camp.I loved it there. Love to you all
