Columbia, South Carolina - Columbia, SC – Christine F Gerald, age 92, passed away peacefully at Wellmore of Lexington on March 11, 2026. Christine's passing followed the passing of her husband of 67 years, Elwood Gerald on March 9, 2026.
In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her parents sisters Myrtle Suggs (Jimmie Lagrande) and Catherine Dew (RC Dew) and brothers Vernon and Major Fowler. She is also predeceased by her husband Elwood Liston Gerald. She is survived by her daughters Christie Gerald Derrick (Karl) and Linda Gerald Plisco (Jonathan). Three grandchildren, Krystal Derrick Graham (Mitchell), Jennifer Plisco Langhals (John) and Michael Liston Plisco. Five great grandchildren, Tyler Graham, Rachel Graham, Emily Graham, Rylan Langhals and Ezra Langhals.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, March 14, 2026 in the chapel of Bush River Funeral Home with burial to follow at Bush River Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at Bush River Funeral Home. A more in-depth obituary can be found at www.bushriverfuneralhome.com

Chris and Elwood were very special to Ronnie and I and our nextdoor neighbors from 1996 till they moved to assisted living. I always looked at them as my second parents. She and I always loved joking with Elwood and giving him a hard time. I loved them both and will truly miss them.
