Maria Anna Williamson
May 9, 1944 - March 22, 2026
Elgin, South Carolina - A loyal wife, devoted mother, grandmother & great grandmother, Maria was known to most as "Marianne." With a heavy heart & great sorrow, we confirm that Marianne went to be with our lord and savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Marianne passed away in her home bed, peacefully in her sleep at the age of 81 years old.
Marianne was born in Hockenheim, Germany during the midst of WWII. As a baby, Marianne lived in an underground bunker with her father, mother, brother & five sisters until the end of WWII. Marianne grew up to become a beautiful & vibrant young lady who knew exactly what she wanted in life. Meeting the man of her dreams who just happened to be a soldier in the US Army, Marianne knew that Clarence Avery Williamson was not only her first love, but the love of her life. Marrying Clarence and moving to the US was the best decision that Marianne made as it produced three beautiful children, Rebecca, Michael & Christopher. A devoted mother, Marianne raised her children to become the same strong willed, independent & dedicated people that she knew herself to be.
Marianne leaves behind her husband, Clarence Avery Williamson Jr. Her only daughter & the eldest child, Rebecca Hellman & her husband, David Allen Hellman. Her middle son, Michael Avery Williamson & his wife, Maria. Her youngest, the baby, Christopher Allen Williamson & his wife, Nikki. Marianne leaves behind 16 grandchildren; Ashley, Nicholas, Joshua, David Jr., Eric, Patrick, Savannah, Jonathon, Madison, Tyler, Alexi, Elly, Chandler, Cohen, Madison & Dillon. Marianne leaves behind 10 great grandchildren; Chloe, Carson, Peyton, Kenley, Noah, Rhett, Amelia, Olivia-Kate, Hudson & Scarlett.
Marianne was a woman of many admirable attributes to include, integrity, character & strength. Her unwavering and meticulous nature allowed her to become an asset as a Machine Operator at FN Manufacturing for many years. During her retirement, Marianne enjoyed traveling with her family, visiting with her family from Germany when they had the opportunity to visit in the US & spending time with her Grandchildren and spoiling them with bags (not pieces) of candy during the Holidays & family gatherings.
Marianne enjoyed spending time crocheting and making dish cloths for her kids, grandkids & friends. Marianne also enjoyed baking and made the best cheese cakes as well as pound cakes. Marianne always made sure that there were sweet treats in the home for her husband of 56 years, Clarence.
Marianne was a woman of devotion to her family & will be missed every single day.
