Frank Loudermilk Obituary

Frank E. Loudermilk, age 78, of the Missouri Veterans Home, formerly of Leeton, MO, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Frank was born in Macks Creek, MO and graduated from Buffalo, MO High School. After high school graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam conflict. Frank proudly served his country in the Navy and Naval reserves for 22 years. During his time in Vietnam, he was assigned to a US Marine Corps unit as a Hospital Corpsman. Frank earned several honors during his military service, including a Purple Heart. However, he was most proud of his Navy Commendation Medal for heroism awarded by the Secretary of the Navy on November 7, 1970.
Upon completion of active military service, Frank attended and graduated from the Northwest Missouri State College in Kirksville, MO. He then got his Medical Technologist degree from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville. He worked in several area hospital laboratories in his career, retiring from Western Missouri Medical Center.
Frank and the former Phyllis Coy were united in marriage on March 26, 1980. In his spare time, he enjoyed raising cows on his hobby farm in the rural Leeton community. Frank and Phyllis also enjoyed camping and trout fishing in the trout parks in Missouri. He loved teaching his granddaughters how to fish. Frank had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Frank is survived by his wife, Phyllis, his children, Amanda Jackson (Eric) of Oak Grove, MO, Erin Jarsulic (Justin) of Lee's Summit, MO and Chris Schieni (Rebecca) of Wake Forest, NC, six granddaughters, Meredith, Mallory and Maggie Jackson, Bailey and Josie Jarsulic, and Olivia Schieni, his brothers, Abraham H. Loudermilk, Jr. (Glenda) and Bruce Loudermilk both of Buffalo, MO, a sister, Jane Loudermilk, Columbia, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Elfreda Loudermilk of Buffalo, MO.

January 29, 2026

Frank and Phyllis opened their home to a couple of us country boys who were stationed at Whiteman. I remember many days helping Frank around the farm. Those days would often end with us sitting around listening to Frank's jokes and stories. Looking back, I'm not sure if it was Frank's medical training or just his good nature but he definitely cured me of my homesickness. I'll forever consider myself blessed to have known Frank and the entire Loudermilk family. Respectfully, Dan Brown
