Dennis Sheffer Obituary

Scott, of Mineral, VA, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at Henrico Doctors Hospital in Richmond, VA.
He is preceded in death by his father, Marvine Sheffer; brother, Ronald Sheffer; brother-in-law, Eddie Dolin; and niece, Amanda Sheffer.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth Hyatt; stepfather, Frank Hyatt; brothers, David Sheffer (Traci), Mike Sheffer, and Frank Hyatt Jr; sisters, Debbie Dolin, Terry Sheffer, Kim Riggleman (Jeff), and Sandy Tate (Will); as well as, many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great nieces.
Scott was a long-time employee of the Washington Post, where he had many friends. He enjoyed making others laugh, watching the Dallas Cowboys, Indiana Fever & Baltimore Orioles, spending time with his beloved dog, Nicki and competing in pool tournaments with his team "Here for fun" at The Eagles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026, Woodward Funeral Home, 200 Fredericksburg Ave, Louisa, Virginia. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Woodward Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Little River Baptist Church, 4959 Buckner Rd., Bumpass, VA 23024.
