James Chavez Obituary

James "Jimmy" Chavez, 69, of Midland, Texas, passed away on September 30, 2023. He was born on July 13, 1954, in Durango, Colorado. Jimmy, as he was commonly known, was a beloved husband, brother, brother-in-law, son-in-law, and uncle.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Chavez, who stood by his side throughout their journey together. He is also survived by his sisters, Agnes Quintana and Betty Chavez of Cortez, CO, and his brother, Abe Chavez (Becky) of Ceres, CA. Jimmy is also survived by his mother-in-law, Frances Fowler, and brother-in-laws, Bobby Fowler (Donna), Michael Fowler (Kathy), and Lynn Fowler.

Jimmy will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews, who have fond memories of their time spent with him. He also had many friends who will miss his laughter and companionship.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Mayme Chavez, his sister Trish Coulter, his brother-in-law Gary Quintana, and his father-in-law Robert Fowler. Their memory will forever be held close by those who loved them.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Jimmy in September, 2024. Details will be provided at a later date. This will be an opportunity for family and friends to gather and share stories, memories, and laughter as Jimmy wanted.
