Mr. Haynie...former teacher and colleague of mine...I was thinking of you and Mrs. Haynie on a recent trip to the area. I reminisced about field trip where you chaperoned and drove us to a theatre event and we asked you to go a little faster by encouraging you to "put the pedal to the metal." You aptly responded with: "I´ll put the heat to the seat" which quieted us down momentarily, but also made us laugh a little more. I appreciated working with you when I entered the profession as a young teacher in WRUSD and was grateful for your help with all of my tech questions as they related to Apple products among other things.
To his loved ones...thank you for sharing him with so many in the Fort Defiance area-students, staff, and community members...I know we have an array of memories which bring smiles to our faces and warmth to our hearts. I am happy to hear that he continued to serve in education after moving away from my home community of Fort Defiance.

My condolences and to the family. I was a former WRSUD colleague, and Larry mentored me when I took over the GT program in FT. Defiance Elemetary School, before the name changed Tsehootsi Intermediate and Primary.
I always appreciated his advise to teach using Shared Inquiry with Junior Great Books.
Rest in Peace.
